Taco Bell/YUM! Brand Foods
Cost-effective, adaptive re-use, and energy efficient solutions are used throughout the project to minimize cost and carbon footprint, and to provide for a LEED CI Gold certification, while supporting the Taco Bell brand with its energy, sense of play and strong corporate identity. The mechanical systems included large central air handling systems, water cooled central chiller and plant and a gas fired central heating hot water system. The air handling units are equipped with economizers that take advantage of free cooling during optimal outdoor temperatures. Systems also include demand control ventilation to maintain CO2 levels. The air handling systems for levels 2 thru 5 are under floor air distribution systems. Test kitchen spaces where supplemented with kitchen ventilation systems and overhead make up systems. During this time the HVAC compressors are not active which provides additional energy savings. Automatic day light dimming controls are installed for the classrooms in order to take advantage of natural day light whenever possible.
Commissioned systems included:
- Air Conditioning
- Ventilation
- Lighting Control Systems
- Domestic hot Water System
- Energy Management System
