ENR California announced the winners of their Best Projects 2017 competition last Friday and tk1sc is is named in three projects in the Interiors / Tenant Improvement SoCal and the Specialty Contracting SoCal categories.
According to ENR, of the nearly 100 projects located throughout California and Hawaii, projects were evaluated on the ability of the project team to overcome challenges, contribution to the industry and community, safety and construction, and design quality.
Of the award winners, tk1sc was part of the following three projects:
The award for Best Project in Specialty Contracting, Southern California went to the UC Irvine TEM Facility which contains two of the most advanced transmission electron microscopes in the world. tk1sc was part of the PCL Construction and Carrier Johnson+Culture design-build team for the Irvine Materials Research Institute at UC Irvine.
Receiving an Award of Merit in Specialty Contracting, Southern California is the Alameda Square Parking Structure located in Los Angeles. This 5,000-space, 10-story garage is located at ROW DTLA’s mixed-use complex. tk1sc was part of the Bomel-led the construction team, with Choate Parking leading the design.
Finally, in the Interiors / Tenant Improvement, Southern California category, an Award of Merit was given to OUE Skyspace, the observation deck atop the US Bank Building in downtown Los Angeles received a merit award in the Interiors / Tenant Improvement SoCal category. Gensler led the design team, with Hathaway Dinwiddie leading the construction.
