STUDIOK1 continued to assert its status as one of the preeminent lighting design firms in Southern California, receiving seven awards for five projects at the Lumen West Awards held on June 22, 2013 at the Avalon Ballroom in Hollywood. The Lumen West Awards represent excellence in achievement in lighting design, and STUDIOK1 dominated the evening, as well as taking home the top prize for the IES Orange Section, The Lumen Award, for its work on The Anaheim Convention Center Grand Plaza - in addition to awards of excellence for four other projects, spanning a wide range of project types and sizes. The projects receiving recognition for design excellence at the premiere event for the lighting industry in Southern California include:
Anaheim Convention Center Grand Plaza - Site and Landscape
Biola University School of Theology Chapel - Institutional
Indigo Sky Casino - Hospitality
Old Town Newhall Library - Cultural
Taylor Offices - Corporate
The Anaheim Convention Center Grand Plaza also took the Controls Award for its innovative use of control technology, and dynamic programming of the lighting and fountains within the plaza.
